How the LumosCore Cross-Chain Bridge Works (XRPL ↔ Stellar)
What is a cross-chain bridge?
Many tokens live on more than one blockchain so they can reach more users, apps, and liquidity. A well-known example is USDC, which exists across many networks. To keep the user experience simple—and the price the same across chains—you need a bridge. A bridge lets holders swap a token on Chain A for the same token on Chain B at a fixed 1:1 rate, while keeping supply balanced.
LumosCore’s approach
LumosCore’s mission is to reduce fragmentation by bringing blockchains and essential tools into one platform. The Cross-Chain Bridge is a key part of that mission.
- We have reserved 50M $LUMOS (5% supply) on each supported network—currently XRPL and Stellar—to power 1:1 swaps.
- These reserves exist only to serve bridge activity, helping maintain price parity and smooth swaps between chains.
- As we add more networks, we’ll extend the bridge in the same way.
How the bridge works (step by step)
- Connect your wallet on the chain you’re sending from (source chain).
- Open LumosCore → Bridge, choose $LUMOS, and enter the amount to move.
- Select the destination network (e.g., XRPL ↔ Stellar).
- The app shows a 1:1 quote and network / swapping fees before you proceed.
- Confirm and sign the transaction in your wallet.
- After the bridge receives your $LUMOS on the source chain, it releases the amount from the dedicated reserve on the destination chain to your address.
- You’ll see a completion message with transaction references for both chains.
Most swaps will complete in seconds to minutes, depending on network conditions.
What’s next
The XRPL Launchpad goes live on October 20, and the Cross-Chain Bridge follows as our second application on LumosCore. More modules are planned over the coming months as we continue to unify tools across chains.
